Welcome to At Witt's End…..
Take a glimpse into the way I see the world...and a peek at my actions and reactions to world events. In these pages you'll see cartoons spanning my 30 plus years as a political cartoonist. Political cartooning has been one of my ways of “being part of the revolution”. Since the late 1970’s I’ve used images as a way to protest creatively. When I first started cartooning all I was able to draw were stick figures. Commonwoman Newspaper printed nearly everything I drew...good, bad, and ugly, and really enabled me to stretch my cartoon wings and fly.
What I love about cartoons is the multi-layered perspective words and images can bring to our cultural idioms and icons. In the last few years, many of my cartoons have focused on environmental themes. These cartoons have been my way of expressing both my hope and my despair for the planet. Many of the cartoons are inspirations and collaborations with friends as were the political campaigns and protests they depict. I hope these cartoons will spark a reaction, stimulate a response, encourage others to speak out, and ignite political action!!
You'll also see pages of campaigns and events which encompass some of the creative actions I've undertaken with inspiring and inspired friends to speak with outrage and humor at injustice, war, and planetary destruction. Thanks to all who have inspired and encouraged me!
